These Seascapes were inspired by the walks I took with my newly born son. 'June gloom' in the Santa Monica Bay generates dense low clouds that sit on the coastline. Struck by the dynamic subtle changes from moment to moment in color and density, I decided to start making images with my medium format film camera on our walks. The simplicity of composition and content carry a new quietness into my work that I re-discovered on those chilly beach mornings.
